All Cry

All cry

Their tears dry

A smile they try to keep

A beautiful dream as they sleep

All laugh

But hardly enough

Never to halt for those in love

Neither who lose all they have

Where the Heart Is

The frame raps the asphalt

The rhythm ropes in serrated emotions

Winding midst tended arable

Sprawling auburn caking fallow

Spent and dreary in wait

For the nod of a heeding cloud

Descending into the river bowl

A fleeting repose at the threshold

A frontier dais of river flows

Ascending effortless

Disintegrating the nerve

Past where for eons once stood

A wealth in canopy and wood

Profuse ruffian hand shakes

Pave way to counsel over corn meal cake

Proof of a homely abundance

A sturdy lone ray

Traces a course past the iron roof

To pay homage, to honour

A too long, lost sojourner

Odour of fresh cattle dung

Mingling with the whiff of soaked soil upward flung

Brings me back to earth's feet

Midday sun looking down to greet

Petite yellow bright visages

A temeritous taunt of defiance

A spirited unfettered flourescence

Boulders clinging to the hillside

Like obstinate mites on a cow hide

In perpetual immutable banter

Like departed souls, prostrate

Watching by, days' saunter

The sun drapes atop, a crown

An anointing royal verdant sheen

Trees basking in balmy receding rays

A rainbow haloes the expanse

A portal to seventh heaven

And I bathe in the awesome wonder

Of the sublime, the idyllic

And when once more, dark

Hovers resolute over land

I leave my heart behind
